in my research,
i just found out that a Robert Loblaw does not exist
as a proud supporter of the joke, i am deeply offended by this.
we live in a man's world.
being a woman in the business world,

puts into question my knowledge, my skills, my expertise
leads to instability where i no longer feel in control of my own future

Be Kind, RewindJumper
The Eye
friday. ammaar and i watched "Jumper" and it sucked. we ate at Crabby Joe's afterwards and had a really good time catching up =)
saturday. delicious dinner at charis's house with pris and T.J. prepared by MASTER CHEF, charis luk. she made japanese curry, stirfry vegetables with shrimp and springrolls. it's been YEARS, but she played "my favourite" on the piano, like old times.
we went to priscilla's Zoe Coffeehouse Fellowship night at her church, MCAC. everyone i met was really nice, and i also ran into a whole bunch of unexpected people! oh yah, i talked to this guy named M.C. and he does voice acting for this YTV show Grossology.
okay i just googled it. that's him!
it was refreshing to be in that kind of welcoming, open, friendly atmosphere. thanks for inviting me priscilla! afterwards, we headed to demetres and ambushed inneke at work. holy cow, i haven't seen this crazy indo since highschool - we kept taking pictures of her! i haven't been to demetres since the time i visited western, so i missed the signature crepes/waffles.
GREAT READING WEEK. but i'm sad there are a lot of important people i didn't get to see. unfortunately, i'm heading back to waterloo in an hour. see you guys on the other side.
me, my parents, tony and lillian all went out for mandarin last night. i ate far less than i normally would, but i still managed to become so stuffed to the point where i wanted to puke.
i didn't even finish my dessert! and it's me we're talking about here. the person who manages to down two cups of ice cream even after a ye's all-you-can-eat sushi binge. i had half an icecream/waffle left and i couldn't even finish it.
i couldn't even eat the fortune cookie and he-ello I LIVE for the fortune cookie! my mama taught me to always finish my food. never in my life have i experienced the point in which i could not eat another bite.
now i know how skinny people feel when they're always saying, "I can't eat anymore!" and they waste all that food on their plate. i always thought it was for show. now i know.
i went to dixie outlet mall for the time in my life with my mom and brother, and might i say, i could easily spend my entire day looking for good bargains there (i'd rather not though). i've been on this life long search looking for "the perfect" handbag, and so far, not so great. i am a picky person - which is one of the reasons why i don't like getting presents in the first place. people just don't know what i want even if they tried, and my style could never be pegged.
it all came down to an $80 ninewest bag VS $45 aritzia bag, which apparently everyone has and which i cannot find in the colour that i want anymore. and no matter how desperate, i ain't paying 80 bucks for a stupid handbag unless it's >= coach (which is HIGHLY improbable).
maybe i'll take mike's word for it, and search ebay.
when the hell did i start caring about name brands.
after writing this, why all of a sudden do i suddenly feel 45% girlier?
DAY 2
so Saturday night we ended up going to St. Huberts for dinner. all of our meals were pretty good but ira didn't like her puny steak. she ordered wine too but none of us like wine, so it was mostly ira (with a little help from me) forcefully chugging down shots of wine. then we walked around downtown montreal (ira was being hilarious), got home, then went to casino because mike has a gambling/blackjack addiction. ira was feeling very whoozy in the car, and lets just say she was pretty sick - so we headed back pretty early.
DAY 3
we took a while to get out. our mission was to find the most awesomest poutine place ever. mike was adamant on walking there... he said it was 1km away but it took forever walking there. the place was really cute. poutine comes in regular and large, and i saw the regular and it looked pretty small and i was pretty hungry, especially from the walk and im so stupid i got the large. when it came out, it was HUMONGOUS beyond imagine! i was embarassed to have ordered so much! but i managed to eat it all after a while and a lot of concentration. mike downed a large like no tomorrow. we walked back and took the longer way, got back to the hotel and then the toilet was clogged and ira used it and it overflowed everywhere (its like waterloo home all over again) so we had to wait for a while for the plumber to come and clean it up. then went for dinner at Picano this French-Italian place. then we passed old montreal briefly, and hit up the casino again. it was more fun this time even though i lost 10 bucks on slots in like 2 minutes. when ira was playing this wheel game, i was talking to this really nice guy from the US the entire time. then we watched mike play blackjack and went back and had a nice sleep.
DAY 4
last day! we headed straight to this awesome crepe place in old montreal. SO good. we hit up one souvenir shop and headed back at 2pm. i drove for about 3 hrs, and we made several pitstops for bank/gas/food/washroom. i was getting very anxious and cranky because i wanted to get home so bad. it was also snowing pretty bad, and we dropped off ira in toronto first so i ended up getting to mississauga at 9:30pm. as you can tell, we didn't go to any tourist attractions whatsoever. to sum up our trip, it mainly consists of: sleeping, and eating. still fun nonetheless.
now...
HOME!
finally. as much fun as i had in montreal, i'd always rather just be right at home.
pictures later.
finance exam was 5-7, jacey and boyfriend, michael, picked me up at 7:45pm and we picked ira up in toronto - with traffic and stops, we arrived in Ottawa at around 2AM.
the car ride was fun! me and ira were singing RANDOM songs and we kept forgetting lyrics, so mike tried to drown us out with the radio. oh yeah, mike kept falling asleep and steering to the side!!! :O
we were supposed to stay at Travelodge where Hendry and Jane were staying, and got a room for 3 people (even though there was 4 of us). there was some discrepancy, and there was only ONE queen sized bed, and we had to HASSLE to get another bed. they ended up getting us a cot, but what the fuck! thereotically, how can "3" people sleep on one bed? and why do we have to HASSLE to get another bed? shitty service. and the hotel was sketch to the max - small ass room and everything was nasty. but it was amusing because i was teasing the couple the whole night.
we woke up around 9:30 and drove to denny's to have breakfast with jane and hendry. then we all drove to Confederation Park for Winterlude! we "walked" on the Rideau Canal (no one wanted to go skating), and we checked out winterlude. we ate taffy on a stick.. basically they put taffy on snow and rolled it around and we paid 2 bucks for it. oh yeah, there was beaver tails but we didn't even get any (we were all too full from breakfast). there was an ice sculpture competition which was cool, and then we went to Rideau Shopping centre and walked around.
hendry and jane stayed in ottawa, then the four of us drove to Montreal at 4pm. we got to Candlewood hotel and took forever trying to find parking... and the GPS was getting super annoying at that point. but when we got inside, we were ASTONISHED!
1) the place is HUGE
2) there's a KITCHEN. with a fridge, stove and sink and it's beautiful!!! there's a dishwasher, coffee pot, microwave... it's so beautiful (tear)
3) there's TWO HUMONGOUS beds!!!
4) LARGE COUCH BIG TV
5) SPACIOUS!!!
6) clean, luxurious... BEAUTIFUL!!!
7) washroom is spacious and clean!!
anyway, i don't know about PLANS tonight. blog tomorrow! pictures later.
Some Quotes
"MONTREAL!!!" - me, on our way to ottawa
"i'm gonna slap you in your face til you die" - ira
oh yeah, mike does this thing where if he says something and u say, "what?" he always says, "what?" back, impulsively. so me and ira made up a song to sing everytime he does that:
Oops! He did it again. He said "what" again. Got lost in the brain... oh Mikey Mikey

we left our last slice of pizza on a plate on the kitchen counter as "bait." this morning, it's gone. winnie ate OUR pizza. who does that? steal someone's food off their plate. next time, we should put vinegar or something nasty on the pizza, and teach her a lesson of not stealing people's food or belongings in general.
our potential fourth roommate aka "winnie replacement" is coming in soon to check the place out. i feel sorry for her because she's going to have to step into her room. she's probably going to be scared shitless. if i like her, i'll show her my room so that she doesn't think all of our rooms look like the aftermath of a hurricane

old room VS new room
the most important change is that my bed is against the wall so i can sit back on my bed comfortably. i moved the boxes behind my bed and made myself a little bookshelf/printer area. with the boxes from behind my bed gone, i needed a place to put my alarm clock so i moved my little drawer beside my bed
me and becky never curled our hairs before (at least not by ourselves), so she wanted to try on me and here are the results. i really liked it, even though i can never really get that vanessa hudgens look. becky rocks
me & crazy person aka lilMAN @ sushi on friday
last month. after class, kevin broke off some huge icicles hanging off the AC roof, and we had a duel LOL
we all need to do bad things sometimes
if not only to experience without having any regrets or "what if's"
but to also learn from your mistakes and become a better person because of it
you can't expect people to be perfect. we're innately flawed
and the worst thing you can do is to judge them for their imperfection
it's life. life is a learning process
you have to fall to learn to get up
we don't have any food in our refrigerator, or at least anything that can be consumed as it is. and with all these assignments and everything, we've been ordering out. even yesterday after we woke up, we ordered KFC while watching the semi-finals for american gladiators. becky had to proctor, so me and ira started watching freaks & geeks that i just finished downloading. she fell asleep (DUH, again) and we ended up being late for the Chinese New Year dinner @ KingTin with a whole bunch of friends.
dinner was fun. we had two big tables put together. our table had 8 mainly vegetable entrees while the other table ordered all this meat, so lilian and others at the other end were taunting us, and james and hendry were being hilarious as usual (i miss those two). and they gave us another round of my favourite chinese dessert, so all is right in the world =)
then, me, ira and lilian hung out til late last night. ira said something that i won't say, but it made me laugh a little TOO hard. hahaha
Wed. i rearranged my furniture substantially (how come no one noticed?) and now my chi is at harmony
Thurs"SHOULD have been a snow"day. after morning classes, shannon, kev and i had lunch when we were approached by the creepiest candidate for board of directors ever. kevin went to class, we went to shannon's place to get his laptop then mine after and then i left my friggin key in my room and i locked myself out again. he tried to pick the lock but couldn't because my lock is pretty strong, and then we both went outside to my window and tried to break in but my window was locked. shannon had to meet his group, so me and becky used our "tools" (butter knives, nail clippers, and screwdrivers and my physical force!) to try to break in my door. after a short while and a lot of hardwork and team effort, we actually broke in! i met up with about half our class who all happened to be at the science building working on the same project, and stayed there until 5PM working on the stupid OPS assignment question that i wasn't even supposed to be responsible for in the first place. i went home to shower then back to campus to work on marketing until 5AM
Fri. woke up at 11 and worked my ass off trying to finish off marketing (which was due @ 4PM). ira came at 4pm, then we all (becky, hassina, kev, lilian, ira and me) trekked to sushi... the damn bus was too full to let us on so we had to wait forever in the wet and cold for the next one. when we got to sushi, we met up with people and had to wait forever for the table because there was 10 of us, but sushi was freakin delicious! we all went back to my place, then shannon came and we all chilled til 5am. everyone went home 'cept ira and shannon and we watched silent hill. ira fell asleep (DUH) so i made shannon watch dexter and he loves it! lol he went home at 7:30 this morning and me and ira slept together on my tiny twin bed, and we woke up like an hour ago.
THE END
all weekend, i didn't step foot out of the house. i caught up on finance and got a head start on the assignment due next monday (while playing some advance wars and revenant wings) and also preparing for stupid in-class marketing case for participation marks.
assignment for marketing is due friday, and operations assignment has now been moved to friday too. i'm hardcore working on ops right now which i HAVE to finish tonight so i don't plan on sleeping.
i also finished dexter season one. so good.
ira is coming this weekend, and we're going to get bubbletea and celebrate new years with lilian and friends so i'll finally get the chance to socialize. then next week is going to be more hell - BOD for marketing and two midterms, 14th and 15th. not like i had plans for valentine's day anyway.
then we're roadtripping it to montreal 16th-19th.
howard's birthday
reading week.
and then spice girls!
