Dec 24 - Drive home with Sana. I ended up meeting a fellow FI at StatsCan who knows all the DND FORD people. I cannot stress this enough: the finance community in Ottawa is small.
Dec 25 - Crazy family Xmas dinner prepared by moi! It was a long night, but great time to spend with the kids. Regarding their parents though, let's say some things never change.
Dec 26 - Drinks with the boys + gf at Coopers. I always wondered what these guys would look like in relationships, and I must say it's pretty adorable.
Dec 27 - BBT with Candy. She's been through a lot since the last time I saw her during Thanksgiving, but it was great catching up. I've never known anyone more honest with their feelings.
Dec 28 - Engagement day! (more on this later). Hung out with Steph, visited her condo, shopped downtown and met up with the happy couple for dinner at Kinton Ramen. Ran into Mike & friends and ended up going for drinks and Korean fried chicken afterwards with them.
Dec 29 - Annual dim sum brunch with Thomas & friends at Emerald. Went to Lisha's party at her downtown condo. We played pervartistry and girls won, even though we were outnumbered 6-5. Fun!
The Remainder of My Holidays...
- Lunch at Panera Bread with Becky
- Coffee shop time with Denbo
- Downtown NYE's party with Charis, Seth & friends
- V time
- Hang out with Jacey & Mike downtown
- Drinks with Kevin at West 50
- Maybe Ripley's aquarium with my parents & my youngest brother's family
- Seth's bday at Etsu and karaoke at BarPlus
- Become a beggar on the street after spending too much, become obese from all the delicious food consumed, and pass out from exhaustion.
On Tuesday, I finished my exam by noon (I walked in Marilyn and walked out the hunchbank of notre dame - damn you retarded 1E1 tables). I know I was going to have an adventure but I didn't really feel up for doing much of anything haha. I ran errands all day and by night, Ira went to school to study while I stayed home to pack.
Around 10:30PM, James came over and brought me an ice cap and we had a reaaaaaaaaaaaaly nice talk outside for an hour. =) When he left, I was about to take apart my desk but I realized I didn't have the "L" tool (which I now know is called an allen wrench - trying to explain what it was to 4 different people without knowing what it's called was not fun).

My plan: take apart my desk and go to sleep at 1AM. How naive I was!!!
What happened: I needed the allen tool so I went to Jackie's to pick it up and Ira told me to get her bubbletea. Jackie INSISTED on coming with me (apparently he was very bored at home LOL) and we brought Ira and Cyrus ice cream instead. They were talking about how Penny left to see the meteor showers, so the three of us went to solarium to look too. There was too much light so we walked a little further but it wasn't dark anywhere! We ended up walking and walking, all the way to Waterloo park (and getting super lost in the meantime) where everyone else was. The rest of the night we watched meteor showers and in total, I saw five! It's so fast and it rarely happens so I was SUPER EXCITED.
So yeah, I took apart my desk and went to sleep but at 5AM!!
Wednesday, I packed and cleaned everything by noon. Kevin coincidentally came up to get his things and he gave me a ride to home hardware to get some packing tape. Kevin was so nice, he helped me move some of the really heavy stuff!! My parents remembered him from the first day of school, where we were all moving in at the same time. Fast forward one year later, and we're all moving out... time goes by so quick!
I got back to Mississauga around 1:30PM and my parents took me to Tremendous where we had $11 dimsum between the three of us! (All I can think about is that $100 meal at Cameron we had between the four of us...my goodness). Now I am home, the babies are here and make me happy, my room has stretch marks now because it's jam packed with my crap, and then... off to Europe on Saturday.
I wanted this weekend to be pure studying, but I had a lot of nice distractions to remind me that I only have two more days before I move away from Waterloo forever. I can't wait to be done with school, but I also can't seem to tear myself away from the place I once called a shithole.
I am going to miss it so much. I am going to miss everyone so much.
Yesterday, Jackie had an "end of the summer BBQ" but for a lot of people, it was a last goodbye before we all go our separate ways. Of all the beautiful days we had this week, it decided to rain a mother, but it was all good. I only stayed for a couple of hours because I had to go study, but it was really fun - tons of food, friends, drinks, music, WII! I am going to miss these crazy people.
Tonight, Mike and Jacey invited us over for special dinner. He cooked me all my favourite foods!!! His special croutons dressed with vinegar, french onion soup and RISOTTO!!! Me and Ira brought over ice cream cake that said "Mike and Jacey... YOU ROCK!" which was quite embarassing telling the Baskin Robbins guy to write.
Back to school studying right now. I am finished my exam at noon on Tuesday and I am just going to run around Waterloo like a crazy person taking photos, admiring everything for the last time, and saying goodbye. I am going to do everything I wanted to but never got a chance to... anyone in for a crazy adventure?
So I finished an exam last night and afterwards, the original plan was for me, Jackie and Shannon to go to Morty's to drink off the narsty after taste of Giselle's horrid exam... somehow it turned into 11 of us!
Today, me, Jacey, Mike and Ira went for all-you-can-eat buffet at Sushi Star. Mike was like, "What are we going to do now?" and I said, "Let's sleep under a tree!" So we went to Victoria Park and it was really nice. Jacey kept harassing the ducks and swans and Mike helped Ira climb an otherwise unclimbable tree while we were getting weird looks from people. I'm surprised after four years at Waterloo, I've never been to this park before because it's right beside Charles St. Terminal. It's pretty sweet.
Here are some pics of various events:
Me and birthday boy!

Group of friends at James's birthday party. How did he cramp so many people in his very narrow apartment? Look at Mike's face = priceless.

Church day! On our way to dimsum and enjoying the gorgeous day

Us outside of Cameron - the uber expensive dimsum place

My crazy friends posing outside of James's apartment
More to come.
It was really, honest-to-God, FUN.
Thank YOUS for showing up and making Marilyn happy. I've been planning this since April, and all I wanted from the beginning was an end of the summer blow out where everyone can just enjoy themselves. Hopefully I've done my job.
I prayed for good weather and I was blessed, even when I almost got a heart attack when it was raining a sh*tstorm two hours prior to boarding. It cleared up fast and the weather became lovely - I couldn't ask for more! The boat wasn't that bad, the steak was thankfully NOT 5 oz, and people actually suited/slutted up and looked fabulous.
The planning was actually very easy and systematic, not that difficult as everyone thought it was. Getting $$$ from people was easy for me because I'm good at nagging people to getting things I want.
Special Thanks
- Richard
the person I was talking to the moment the idea of having a party on a boat popped into my head. It was just a wild idea, but he showed me the link to the website and then it suddenly became much more than just a wild idea. Thank you for your help and for collecting the $$$ from peeps and being the person I bitch to whenever a stupid issue arose
- Vanessa & Chris

helped me count the money (an accountant and an assistant manager - how can you go wrong? Even if Chris did miscount hahaha). V-bear went with me to the boat to see Captain Evil while I was walking around with $3000 in cold hard cash in the downtown core. It was also her idea for me to get the red dress and for that I love you for it. You're the best!
- Michael Viola
for collecting $$$ from your people and enduring my endless nagging. P.S. you might've collected everyone else's money far in advance, but thanks for being the absolute last person to pay BTW!!!
- Michael Luong
(in blue stripes) being very very helpful and concerned when I didn't even ask for it. Your help on the date of the boat party was especially appreciated
- Justin
(in purple) for wearing what I wanted you to wear, helping with the music, driving especially when you HATE Toronto and enduring stupid traffic, driving backwards and fake parking ticket machines. And staying up all night avec moi even when you had to wake up in 4 hours...... THANKS
Charis, Ira, Lilian, Howard and Shannon.

For either helping with the dress code, being hilarious by obsessing what dress to wear, for the drinks, FOR FINALLY SHAVING YOUR GOD DAMN WOLVERINE OFF YOUR FACE (SHANNON), or for offering a ride so graciously. You guys are simply "bomb"
For those who didn't hear any of the two speeches I was forced to make while inebriated, to sum up:
1) Thank you for everyone showing up. You MUST know it means so so so so much to me.

2) Next year = PARTY ON A PLANE
Exam tomorrow... just wanted to quickly update.
I went home briefly for the weekend for Priscilla's birthday and we hung out at TJ's for a while before going for KBBQ. I never really truly grasped the fact that we are all leaving once summer is over. Priscilla is going to St. Catharines for her Master's, Ginny is going to Calgary for her Master's (TODAY), Charis is going to B.C. for dental school and I am going where I am going. Future Marilyn's problem...
For Canada's day, I wanted to have a beach gathering with a nice BBQ, volleyball and some fireworks but had to be scrapped due to the inclement weather. I was just going to relax at home but Ira really put some effort into getting my ass out of bed so we ended up at Jacey's house, watching some movies followed by fireworks show at Columbia lake.
Anyway like I said, I have an exam tomorrow... so bye
Ira's bday dinner at Sushi Star and then celebration at our house with cake and presents (we got her a camera!)...
Birthday girl and her Birthday Cake

Stees's Angels - for you, Ira
Adding to the monkey family

Ira doesn't believe in entertaining her guests

Ira's lady friends

Ira doesn't believe in entertaining her guests
Ira's lady friends
Ira's other lady friends (why is everyone in the corner wearing aqua?)
Justin's bday after and I made un gateau...

final product (it's a cheesecake underneath the fondant)...kinda ruined because my horrible writing. It's HARD! Writing took me 2x amount of time to make the spiderman
Then... father's day weekend...full of caring for babies

Saturday we went to Spring Rolls and I ate this nasty pad thai. Sunday, brother brought over shrimp and snail to eat. Yumm.. Weekend went by pretty quickly =( Back to school... two exams. I gave Ira my Sims 3 disk to hide away from me until then!
Friday
Me and James at his grad reception.
No grad pics from me yet, my brother was my personal photographer and has it all. I refuse to talk about grad (best day ever) until I have my photos.
Crazy grad night with drunkerds in our house. What happened that night stayed with that night...
Saturday
I made him three sandwiches. Studying with Mike, then pulling an all nighter for my exam that didn't deserve my all nighter. It's okay, I was playing blockles most of the time anywho.
I came home to Ira's homemade Shepherd's pie
Sunday
9 am exam in the morning. I took a nap for 3 hrs then Ira woke me up for Monica's BBQ. Mike won (AGAIN) $50 in poker so me and Jacey attacked him and I reaped my Party on a Boat funds from him.
Monday
A bad morning so I went to the gym and ran into Shannon. Then we went to hang out with Mike. They bought a softball and they were teaching me how to catch and throw (even though there's no way in heck I'm joining their MLSB team). We then went back for badminton
Tuesday
They raided my room to play poker. This is the first time Mike lost...... I think this was a very important day for all of us. Amen.
Vitor had a salsa dancing party for his birthday and I went downtown for the dinner which was supposed to be at 5PM. Of course, we waited three hours and they didn't even leave to dinner yet. Vitor's new salsa dancing friends were just dancing in front of us the whole time (awwkkkwardd) and then we left because Chris had another birthday party to attend.
We met V-bear at Forever21 and she convinced me to go to Chris's friends' dinner. We got there and everyone finished their meals so we ordered fast and ate even faster, even when everyone stuck around for a while after. It was fun. After, everyone left to find some bar which had a crazy long line. By the time we got to another one, I had to catch my bus back to Mississauga and my lovers went back to Markham.
Thanks again to McDonalds Ice Coffee that kept me up all night, I had an unrestful 2 hour sleep. Yesterday at 8am, we left to Michael Murakami's family home in Orangeville for the day. We planted trees in the morning and between the few of us, we planted 300 pretty quickly.

Excited about trees! Wooohh!

Look at my treelings!!!
Then we went to Michael's beautiful home and had lunch with his entire family. His dogs were so adorable other than the fact that one kept trying to lick my balls.
We hung out and then headed to Mono Cliffs to go fly fishing. It is a MASSIVE park, you can seriously walk for hours and hours. It was a little hike and then we fished at two different ponds while simultaneously getting attacked by mosquitos. Me especially, since apparently they all wanted my sweet, succulent juice.
At the second pond, Mike caught a fish but quickly threw it back in because he thought he'd catch more. I kept trying to go after this one little mother effer but it was being a little biatch. The fish were very smart and stubborn. It is the first time I went fishing, muchless fly fishing, and I liked it a whole lot other than the fact that I got one heck of a sunburn.
When we finished, we went the wrong way and walked what seemed like an endless route through this hell of a forest. Out of anger for being lost and getting attacked nonstop by mosquitos, I plucked a trillium (provincial flower of Ontario that is illegal to pick). We made it to the road but were all the way at the bottom of the cliff which is complete opposite of where we parked, so Mike climbed all the way up to get the car and drove back to us. He was a man, and he did the right thing. We had dinner at his parents' place and by the time we got home, it was around 10pm. What a day!
Yesterday, me and Ira went to get Becky's birthday present and I finally bought my running shoes.
We bought her the home and away Toronto Maple Leafs jersey since she is a crazy Leafs fan. Cute eh?!
Yes, they're green but that's not why I bought them. After considerable research, I decided just to dish out for the higher-end pair but I lucked out in the end because there was a sale + SPC discount.
Becky joined us after and we picked up Gerald from the airport. Then me and Ira went on our adventure to four different Rogers trying to return the darned cable box. It was worth the trip because we met this guy with a sexy Scottish accent (I can't wait to go to Europe).
My bananas were beyond ripe so I had to make use of them: I made banana brownies and banana muffins from scratch.
We briefly went to 7-11 to get free slushies with our expired coupon. When we came back, James joined us for the baked goods and then we had a mini-jam session in Ira's room.
Pure poses.
The true musician!
Today is Becky's 22nd birthday.
This is the card I got her featuring her lover from her fave show, Prison Break. We went paintballing at this small place in Kitchener called Paintball Arena. By the end of it, we were all absolutely disgusting but it was fun, although I much prefer laser tag!
Other highlights:
- Late late night girl talk with Ira and Lilian. The trio is best
- Tennis with Michael, Jacey and Ira
- McDees with Jackie and Ira. We got free ice coffee that kept us awake til 7AM
- Becky made me special dinner: chicken with spaghetti squash... mmm, I love it
School Starts:
Taking Tax I and Advanced Tax concurrently is hell enough. Add: Advanced Accounting and Auditing - just kill me.
Mother's Day:

Frankie's Tomatos in Markham for Italian Buffet. Blegh, I hate buffets.

Afterwards, BR with friends for bubbletea (and other ulterior motives...). Dennis spent the night taking random ass photos with his new DSLR. P.S. Upload photos please

Next afternoon was Mother's Day and my parents drove me back to Waterloo. We ate the best meal ever at King Tin.
Jackie's Birthday! Lilian and Ira baked Jackie a diabetic cake with a big "J" on it and made delicious cupcakes with everyone's last names. Again, people, upload your photos! The next day, we met up again on his actual birthday and went out to Morty's. We stayed up late Rock Banding at his house and all I can say to Hendry and James: you guys, omg.
Movies. Howard gave me a ride home Friday morning. Charis called to say goodbye in the afternoon, as she was already at the airport on route to Peru. HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY, see you in two weeks! At night, we stayed up with a Europe psych-up movie marathon night at Richard's house. The next night, we all went out to watch Angels & Demons and it was good!
Blue Jay's Game. I went downtown to pay for Party on a Boat deposit. It was A LOT, so you people better come (Justin, Ira, Mike Murakami, Michael Lee - RSVP! You know you're coming, why prolong the inevitable). I took a picture of a boat, but yeah, it's pretty dinky. I was quite disappointed. Go on the site and look at the photo gallery. This means I should stop hyping it up as one big crazy party.
After, I met up with Lilian and the gang to watch the Blue Jay's Game against White Sox. It was amazing!!! I had a great time, and it's not nearly as boring as that time I watched it when I was a kid. We didn't get our Alex Rios bobblehead (I WILL FOREVER BLAME IRA) but Lilian won free passes for Terminator: Salvation and a hat, and we all get free Pizza! After, we ate at Loose Moose Bar & Grill because Cyrus and Kurt wanted to watch Lakers. Fun day. Again, UPLOAD PHOTOS!
Okay I'm all caught up! I beat you, James.
It was a large group of us who showed up for dinner at Snug Harbour. I've wanted to eat there for a while because I thought it'd be nice and relaxing with the lake right there. I ended up paying $40 for my meal - why do I always get risotto?! The toffee cheese cake was absolutely amazing though! Unfortunately, it just had to rain (of all the days) so the after plans switched from lounging at the lake to bowling.

We took up three lanes, it was the best even though I bowled more poorly than normal (I blame being on lane 44). Bowling is 100x more fun with a large group. Afterwards, everyone went home but Vanessa, Dennis and Richard came over and we watched Quarantine and Planet Earth (who needs a narrator when you have Denbo, expert in marine biology?). I am looking forward to the sunny weekend. 3 days until school...
But I am sick and its made the past couple of days sucky.
This has been a very relaxing two week vacation. I spent a lot of time with my family and friends and I guess going back to school for the summer won't be all that bad. I kind of miss it (and now I can't imagine life without Waterloo to fall back on). These are my highlights, so far:
- Went out for beer/wings with Howard, and the waitress girl asked me questions about Laurier for a while before even getting served. I kept having to pause and say, "Sorry, Howard"
- My baby friends abso-freakin-lutely LOVE "Auntie Me-lon." I don't know what it is, but Mercedes DIDN'T want to go home because she wanted to play with me. She got so sad because her parents wouldn't let her stay! If they didn't drag her, she would've had her first overnight stay away from home
- Working out and swimming days with Priscilla = FUN. Oh, the hot tub............. how we love it. Oh, and also church - being introduced to my new favourite pastor, Pastor Greg! I also can't wait to go to J&F this Sunday
- Getting drunk on two glasses of wine and throwing up in my friend's car = not a pretty sight = SORRY FRIEND. I am severely restricting myself from overdrinking (the first step is admitting you have a problem)!!!
- Party in Toronto @ Vitor's. Fun fun fun, and also sad because Seth is leaving to Chicago
- Bombarding V-bear at work and hugging her lesbianingly in front of all her managers. We had lunch and major FUN FUN shopping day after work!
- Leaving Richard's house about to leave to catch a movie when my car doesn't start up. Richard has to DRIVE to my house (with me, Vanessa and Dennis also in the car. P.S. DENNIS IS BACK!!!) and PICK UP my DAD and drive him back to his place where our car is... to fix it. Talk about one of the most awkward moments of my life
- Tania, aka. Ms. Rich treated me and Andrew to bubbletea at the new BR! The old BR totally trumps the new one. I came home and went to bed that night, got the chills and got a high degree fever and couldn't sleep a wink until like 6am. Been sick ever since
So yeah, I am 100x better except I think I'm catching a common cold now which sucks ass. Just when weather is starting to get nice again. Four days left until school...
