things are not looking too well right now.

our group is completely incompatible. the personalities are fine, it's just that each of our ideas clash on every minor detail. we can't seem to get anywhere and i feel that we're so behind in comparison to the other groups.

selfish people are really getting on my nerves right now.
just because life is crap doesn't give you the free pass to treat everyone else who offer their support like crap. and just because i am not complaining doesn't mean i'm not unhappy as well. it's best to just get out of here and have some peace.

it's ICE week. basically, classes are done and all of the third year BBAS are randomly put in groups of 5 or 6 and have to take part in this "integrated case exercise." it's an in-depth case analysis where we are presented this 23 page case on a participating company (this year, NuComm is our focus) and have to develop a recommendation on how to solve the underlying issues using external research and integrating everything we learned in business up to this point.

ICE is definitely a big deal. they hosted this ICE kick-off party at the Turret yesterday and i was pretty deadset on not going. also, Dustin was having this pre-drinking party for our core. since clubbing is really not my thing, i decided to just have some drinks and then go home and put together the Operations report since it was due the next day.

around 9, me, becky, hassina, shannon, kevin, mario and renee left our place for Dustin's. me, shannon, renee and kevin were drinking this nastiest vodka ever mixed with coke and then i made renee play rock-paper-scissors with me and she kept losing and i kept pouring her straight vodka and forcing her to drink it. I GOT POOR LITTLE RENEE SO DRUNK! a lot of people from our class was there - it was fun! and then everyone headed to the turret, but for some reason, me, Spencer, Shannon and Gerald were the last to leave so we ended up walking together and having a nice conversation.

by that point, i was pretty much drunk. i really didn't want to go to the turret but they forced me to go, and thus is the explanation for my infamous line of the night: "I gotta go home and do Ops!"

i basically said that line all night, and i realize that when i'm drunk, i don't say a lot of stupid things, i just stupidly say one thing over and over (refer to Vanessa's drunken birthday party where I kept saying "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!").

oh yeah, before we got to the turret, we ran into renee and mario. they didn't let her in because she was so drunk! LOL. gangbar led me upstairs and i kept the coolest face even though i was so unbelievably freaking gone at that point - and they let me in! also i remember repeating, "They're so stupid! They let me in!" a lot, in the bar.

i lost my money because Dustin offered to buy me a drink but i gave him my money and he kept giving it back but i wouldn't take it. and then he gave me my change and i dropped it all over the floor, and some people told me they saw me giving money out to people - i don't even remember this at all! i lost 40 bucks man!!! damn my drunken generosity!!!

it was a fun night. i remember running into absolutely everyone and having these hilarious conversations, and hugging all of these random people from my core - some of which i've never even talked to in class before. today, a lot of people i don't even remember seeing last night came up to me and asked me if i was alright because i was so drunk the night before, and that i was hilarious because i kept saying "I have to go home and do ops."

i was so dizzy so i wanted to go home, but i couldn't find my keys and i kept asking everyone where they were. i ended up finding becky and getting her keys off her - i ran off home (by myself), stumbled everywhere and toppled over our garbage can, went to my room and i totally forgot i didn't have my keys on me. STORY OF THE YEAR: i tried to knock down my door but i couldn't and then i got tired and i was so dizzy, i ended up passing out on the nasty floor in front of my door, and then i started puking and i fell asleep. i woke up a little after that because i was really cold and uncomfortable, remembered that i had becky's keys so i went into her room and passed out on her bed. keep in mind folks, i still had an ops report to put together!

this is what i found out today. gerald and becky came home, gerald scrubbed my puke and becky washed my nasty pukey sweater for me (i'm throwing it away). i felt really bad. i woke up around 7am and my head was spinning but i wasn't stumbling anymore and i went to my room and saw the door open. becky was sitting on my bed doing ops. at 8, she went to class and i got up and went to my bed and i had to literally force myself to wake up at 11 because there was an ICE information session we had to attend.

i wasn't tired but my head was just throbbing, and i had that constant feeling of wanting to puke. i felt like i had a fever, i was so ill. everything irritated me - noise, sunlight, smells. i can't even think about alcohol without feeling sick. i went to school and it was funny because everyone knew about my puking story or they saw how drunk i was at the turret. me, kevin, colin and hendry had lunch (which made me feel SO much better) and i kept telling them how i STILL had to go do OPS! hahahahaha

i don't like being left out.

i don't like the thought of people wrongfully talking about me behind my back.

i don't like when people act so unforgiving towards me.

i don't like when people try to force me to do things that i don't want to do. (and then try to make me feel bad about it)

i don't like when i'm on the phone with someone, and they'll rudely talk to someone else with me still on the line (don't even call me in the first place if i'm just going to be ignored)

i don't like when people assume i'll drive them everywhere.

i don't like rude people.

i don't like when people get really mad about the stupidest things and act all pissy about it.

i don't like being treated like i'm some idiot.

and i don't like being ignored.

friday we celebrated mike lee's birthday, almost went into Kennedy's, followed by a movie at justin's friend's house

saturday me, my parents, my brother and his wife went to Imperial Buffet and it kinda sucks

sunday we drove up to waterloo and had dinner at Kingtin - yum! then they left =(

today after class, me and kev ate at miju then went to see Giguere who wouldn't increase our grade for the marketing report. tried to study at the library but i was dead tired, so i went home and took a nap at 4, woke up around 8 and completely forgot i had a birthday dinner to attend which i completely missed

then becky and hassina came home and tried to force me to go to mortys to drink with dustin and others, but i wouldn't go and now they came home really really really drunk (it's a monday) and then becky ran outside without any money or muchless, a coat, to go get some dairy queen which at 11pm is most definitely closed by now

ice week has come.

and here i am

i'm home
just got back from hanging out with the old crew.

went to AMC to catch a movie but nothing was good so we hit up Planet Bowl
i hate bowling because i really suck at it, but i got pretty lucky today. in the first game, i was third (out of five of us - vanna, dennis, richard, michael luong) but the second game i beat everybody!!!
afterwards, we hung out at our timmies for a while.

tomorrow, we're celebrating mike lee's birthday with other old crew.
i hope to see charis too.
very nostalgic weekend

CAS Strike Vote Results

The CAS Strike Authorization ballot was completed today.

89.4% voted in favour of authorizing the WLUFA executive to call a strike if necessary.

The teams will be in mediation on Monday March 17th and Tuesday March 18th. The Bargaining Unit will be in a legal position to strike as of 12:01 am on Wednesday March 19th.

We could have been done at 11:30AM.
We WERE done at 11:30AM.

We sent our draft to the teacher and waited all day to hear what she thought. But Spencer didn't like the report. He went on for three hours how everything was *BEEP* (synonym for "not good" and also, feces).

So he made us do it all over again - from scratch.
None of us were happy.

And then Cameron had to go home (45 minutes away) and piss everyone off. Who goes home in the middle of a meeting (6pm) when we're not even done?

It's 11:16pm. Haven't gone home. Haven't had breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I did eat a croissant and a beef patty, and I had a coffee (which I made a profit on) but that's it. I'm still at school and I really don't care about life anymore.

Why?

The teacher e-mailed us back at 10PM. Said the report was good. We just spent the whole day changing it to appease Spencer. And she liked it from the start.

Oh yeah, tomorrow I have a *expleted deleted* operations presentation which I haven't prepared for.
Today was the worst day of my week so far. And it's only Monday.

this was last year when he was just born and he was all dark and ugly and weird looking and i called him "black man of asia" (what? my youngest brother used to call me fat man of asia)

i don't have any recent pictures of him, but now he's really light and very handsome so my family stops calling him ugly. i'm really disappointed because my parents kept calling me to go home to celebrate and i told them i couldn't

HAPPY BIRTHDAY little nephew!

Oh man, I think being happy is out of the question for this week.

I never remembered St. Patty's weekend being so busy. I've always gone home for the weekend - I've not once celebrated St. Patty's day in my life.

First year, I went home to get my wisdom teeth removed (and I clearly remember wearing shorts to that appointment, so it's definitely a sign that the snow should have been long gone by now).

Second year, I bussed home and hung out in Toronto with Vanessa and Chris. That weekend, I also remember meeting baby Marcus for the first time. Holy crap, he's almost one. Being an aunt makes me feel old

I won't get to go home this weekend. I might not even have the chance to go home next weekend, what with the infamous ICE week looming ahead. It's going to be a weekend with day-long group meetings, so if you want to catch me, you'll most likely find me in the SBE atrium, at the library, or at the science building. See you on the other side... (a few more weeks until freedom)

i hate marketing.
i love it, but right now, i hate it.

i was at school yesterday from 12-6pm, went out for sushi, then worked more from 9 to 12pm.

worked from 5:30AM-8PM, took a two hour nap, then went to school for our 10AM meeting at 10:30AM.

it's okay i wasn't late. i was the first one there - everyone else except kevin didn't show up til noon. and it was DUSTIN'S IDEA

worked at school and wrote non-stop with no significant breaks whatsoever until... now. I'M STILL AT SCHOOL! the report is done.

and guess what... we're meeting up tomorrow at noon and working ALL DAY on the presentation. yyyyyyyyyayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • report & presentation due monday - marketing marketing marketing!!!
  • group meetings for different courses, every day, three times a day
  • met Larry Rosen, eldest son and CEO of Harry Rosen
  • justin cooked all day to feed all his friends. he made these humongous ribs, shepherd's pie, cheese cake and chocolate cake! DELICIOUS, EVERYTHING! we went to a veggie place for mike beforehand, so i SO would have ate more if i could. lovely!
  • okay I didn't really meet Larry Rosen, but he talked to us and it felt like he was talking directly to me... as if to say, "I want to hire you, Marilyn. I want YOU on my team. You're brilliant"

today's plans...

  • full day of marketing
  • SUSHI! with everyone!

for the first time in a while, the thoughts in my head are starting to affect this mock appearance i've so delicately crafted

i can't think without showing it or wanting to express it in some way

i want to talk about the funny conversations i've had with my OB group
or the interesting things that go on in and after class
or our trip to real canadian wholesale
or the marketing case presentations
or something so stupidly boring and mundane and normal
but i can't lie today
