It's been in my head for quite some time.

Okay, think about it...  GRAD FORMAL
Rent out a banquet hall: a huge party, tons and tons of friends, food, music and dancing, dressing up? It will be legen...wait for it- DARY!

If everyone is willing to pay approximately $40 for admission (as with any formal), and we get a bunch of friends & friends of friends from all different universities, we can fill up a room in no time. Everyone will be in the comfort of their own friends, but also, there will be no strangers! Everyone will be connected somehow.

Yes, there is a Laurier Grad Formal. And probably one for your own respective universities - but will it be AS awesome? Think about it as a huge party with all of your own friends instead of random people in your program that you don't even like because they talk too much in class and you just want to shoot their heads off.

Most of us are graduating and even for those who are not graduating, this will probably be the "last hurrah" before everyone goes off into the real world to become a bunch of blue collar robots and white collar slaves. Plus. It's SUMMER! TIME TO PARTY!!! The real question is: why not? What else are you doing on a date near the end of August that you cannot book off to party for ONE night?

So I say to you guys... it's time to SUIT UP. (For the ladies) SLUT UP! Play your Get Psyched! Mix CD to the tune of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love A Bad Name." Gather a whole bunch of friends of all ages (must be 18 or older to avoid any potential lawsuits), of all races and countries, from any school or work place, and just come together to have a smashing blast before summer's end.

was truly fulfilling...

time really flies by when you're deep in thought and prayer

Sometimes when you feel truly lost, you need something like that. So that you can regain your strength, so that you can open your eyes. There are bigger things at work, and you can only fully realize that if you open yourself up to your faith.

me and priscilla planned to go to the library today. while i was waiting for her, i saw a bunch of people, around my age, jam packed into this tiny sketchy-looking car parked right at my front lawn. it was at 12:20PM and they were there for a bit, since 11:30 i think and probably longer. anyway, i called priscilla and asked her if she was in that car waiting for me, but she said no. but she just came to my house and she saw those sketchy people too.

she said that as she drove past them, they rolled down the windows and looked at her. and then priscilla parked in my driveway and then that sketchy car drove away right away. after the call, it took me 1 minute to put on my shoes and go outside but by then, they were already gone. now i'm really paranoid that maybe they were planning on breaking into my house or something. i mean it's past noon on a weekday and my parents parked the car inside the garage. maybe they thought they were at work and no one was home. the thought really scares me. i don't know what to think. i can't concentrate.

Is it half way done already? That thought saddens me, because coming home for me is like a breath of fresh air. It's not the same when you just come home for the weekend, because you know you're just going to have to go back to WaterS-hole Sunday night... so I always feel like I am home physically but my heart is not quite there. But my heart is here right now.

Ever since I came home, I've kept myself busy with family and friends and pleasure reading and yes, actually studying. People hung at my house almost every night so far, movies, Demetres, Symposium, Toronto, church, library (which is where I'm at right now...procrastinating) and this upcoming weekend, hopefully squeezing in both a Buffalo and snowboarding trip.

I am reading "The Five People You Meet in Heaven," a book that I've been meaning to read for a long time but I never had the chance to. I haven't pleasure-read for a long time and it's refreshing reading something when you don't have to. I hate business.

So far, I've seen almost everyone but after skating with Cathy and Bhu tomorrow, that makes everybody. First night back, my lover and I watched He's Just Not That Into You (great movie) and although it's quite queer to relate your life to a movie, it really put things in perspective for me. Especially this quote:

"If you can find him, then he can find you. If he wants to find you, he will."

The movie is about waiting around for someone who you think will come around but they won't because... He's Just Not That Into You! Unless... you're the exception. More times than not though, you are NOT the exception

Although I didn't go on vacation like almost everybody else in my program, I can say that I'm definitely not disappointed. I really needed this week, and it's always nice to be in the company of family and friends.

Due Monday:
  • 7PM - 2000 word (8 page) marketing research paper
  • 6PM - Social Psychology midterm
Went to bed at 7AM and woke up at 11AM for my class.

I had two classes where I spent my entire time doing my research and taking down notes. After class, I was at the atrium finishing off my notes and just drilling out my research paper. I also did my online midterm (meant to be an hour) for half an hour with the help of Shannon. I managed to drill out 8 solid pages in a span of two hours, no lie.

Not only that, EVERYONE kept coming up to me and talking to me. I felt bad because I was in super panic mode, but then I just got irate because no one was going away LOL. People kept coming up to me and intentionally trying to distract me and I was like all AGHHHHH... yes especially YOU Shannon! Okay fine you're off the hook because you helped me do my midterm, thanks buddy =)

But seriously, I am at school all the time not doing anything and no one talks to me. People only come to me when I am the most busiest/panicky/crazy/fidgety/time-starved/stressed that I have ever been. I ATE LITERALLY NOTHING TODAY. All I had was a coffee in the morning and it kept me wired until my three hour night class at 7, in which I was falling asleep.

This should be a lesson to all of you: DO NOT PROCRASTINATE LIKE MARILYN OR YOU WILL FAIL LIFE.

So this thing has been going around facebook for a while, but since I don't write notes on facebook, I decided to do one here.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.

1. No one knows me.

2. I am not as sad as everyone thinks I am.

3. I only drink for the sake of getting drunk.

4. Jane and Finch, born and raised.

5. My arms are crooked and bend in weird ways.

6. I love RPGs.

7. I had a speech impediment as a child where I couldn't pronounce "sh," "ch," "r" and "w" words.

8. I was never in a relationship that lasted more than 8 months.

9. I like High School Musical.

10. My biggest pet peeve is being ignored.

11. I can't keep a secret for the life of me.

12. I don't know what I am doing with my life and frankly, it doesn't bother me.

13. I eat popcorn with chopsticks. Add some cajun to that

14. I hate talking on the phone.

15. When people hurt me, I always have to do something stupid to myself.

16. I hate how people now like How I Met Your Mother and "I'm Yours." Likewise in grade 9, I hated how people started liking anime.

17. My life dream is to watch a Westlife concert in Dublin, Ireland.

18. I like beer now.

19. When I was born, my dad was 51.

20. I am trying to learn the phrase "Your ass looks big" in every language.

21. Ghosts scare me.

22. I never sleep with a mirror in front of my bed. Or my bed facing towards a window.

23. Elyna is a character I draw and write fantasy stories about. Not my alter ego.

24. In my life I've stolen three things: 1) A skeleton pog from my childhood best friend, Michelle, 2) A Coors beer cup from Morty's, 3) The recycling bins from next door three days ago

25. I am never changing my facebook picture until I get another picture with Spider-man.

Fab weekend, friends.

Poker night last night!  It was my idea to begin with but I didn't get to play because I went home for the past two weekends. I put in $2 (while Klaus put in $20) and I managed to hang in there for a while at least so I'm proud of myself. Of course, Mike Murakami took the whole pot home again as usual! I was cheering him on to lose the entire time.

Me, Ira, Mike, Jacey and Monica went to try out the new Japanese fusion restaurant "Iron Chef" (not the same teppanyaki place as in Mississauga) and people, it SUCKS. Grossly expensive, disgusting, small portions, bad service = 0/5 on my scale. Then poker, rock band and blackjack at Jackie's house.

I Greyhounded this morning to Toronto and had a DELICIOUS lunch at Sassafraz with Vanessa, Chris and Drish for Winterlicious. It's my new favourite restaurant. Absolutely gorgeous on the inside, exceptional service, generous portions and most importantly, DELICIOUS FOOD. We shopped for a bit downtown (FOREVER21!!!) and then I took the bus back to Waterloo at 7pm. Yes, I spent a lot of money today but I can't say it wasn't worth it ;)
