I've been watching Downton Abbey, a British period series which resolves around a manor and the lives of the rich and the poor who live in it.
I am so surprised this was getting so much critical acclaim, because I didn't think the public would be so receptive of a period show.
I love it and now I have another show to obsess about. I am a sucker for really good tales of romance and chivalry (not the cheap Notebook crap) and I can't help thinking why I was ever born in this decade. Then I think... if I was in Downton Abbey, I probably would've been one of the bitter maids, admiring the fancy lives of the upper class.
Anywho, this show is great but then again I am a girl with a love for period dramas. It is a quick witted show loosely about the disparity between the rich and the poor, with a huge cast of talented actors, storylines that are not cheesy, and a really powerful love story.
I am not going to lie, if I ever find a Matthew in my life, it will be complete. The higher precedence is set for all my future boyfriends.
007. Meredith said, "Oh god!"

although this summer has been by far the crappiest summer of my life, it seems to be wrapping up quite nicely. today is my last day of work, and the thought of not having to come to work anymore is one of my favourite feelings of the whole summer.
not that i had a bad time, it has just been very time consuming. and i hate the feeling of coming home from work feeling exhausted, and then crash in front of my TV for the rest of the night. my summer has been very "blah" although there have been notable highlights.
i'm not dreading school because i feel like i've never left. i'm actually excited to get full access to internet again, and im giddy at the prospect of redecorating my Waterloo room. let's hit up ikea, people.
YAY SUMMER!!!
IRON MAN last night... didn't watch it because the line was ass long and no one wanted to wait (even though that would've made a fantastic blogging story, yeah i said it).
instead, we saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall and i completely loved it. i read a ton of reviews beforehand saying that the jokes were very cliche, but i thought they were very clever and i always loved jason segel (how i met your mother, freaks and geeks).
we were going to hit up Failte but again, the line was ass long and people did not bring their I.D. instead we hit up jack astors for appetizers and drinks bla bla bla BUBBLE TEA TONIGHT OKAY!?
we don't have any food in our refrigerator, or at least anything that can be consumed as it is. and with all these assignments and everything, we've been ordering out. even yesterday after we woke up, we ordered KFC while watching the semi-finals for american gladiators. becky had to proctor, so me and ira started watching freaks & geeks that i just finished downloading. she fell asleep (DUH, again) and we ended up being late for the Chinese New Year dinner @ KingTin with a whole bunch of friends.
dinner was fun. we had two big tables put together. our table had 8 mainly vegetable entrees while the other table ordered all this meat, so lilian and others at the other end were taunting us, and james and hendry were being hilarious as usual (i miss those two). and they gave us another round of my favourite chinese dessert, so all is right in the world =)
then, me, ira and lilian hung out til late last night. ira said something that i won't say, but it made me laugh a little TOO hard. hahaha
Wed. i rearranged my furniture substantially (how come no one noticed?) and now my chi is at harmony
Thurs"SHOULD have been a snow"day. after morning classes, shannon, kev and i had lunch when we were approached by the creepiest candidate for board of directors ever. kevin went to class, we went to shannon's place to get his laptop then mine after and then i left my friggin key in my room and i locked myself out again. he tried to pick the lock but couldn't because my lock is pretty strong, and then we both went outside to my window and tried to break in but my window was locked. shannon had to meet his group, so me and becky used our "tools" (butter knives, nail clippers, and screwdrivers and my physical force!) to try to break in my door. after a short while and a lot of hardwork and team effort, we actually broke in! i met up with about half our class who all happened to be at the science building working on the same project, and stayed there until 5PM working on the stupid OPS assignment question that i wasn't even supposed to be responsible for in the first place. i went home to shower then back to campus to work on marketing until 5AM
Fri. woke up at 11 and worked my ass off trying to finish off marketing (which was due @ 4PM). ira came at 4pm, then we all (becky, hassina, kev, lilian, ira and me) trekked to sushi... the damn bus was too full to let us on so we had to wait forever in the wet and cold for the next one. when we got to sushi, we met up with people and had to wait forever for the table because there was 10 of us, but sushi was freakin delicious! we all went back to my place, then shannon came and we all chilled til 5am. everyone went home 'cept ira and shannon and we watched silent hill. ira fell asleep (DUH) so i made shannon watch dexter and he loves it! lol he went home at 7:30 this morning and me and ira slept together on my tiny twin bed, and we woke up like an hour ago.
THE END
all weekend, i didn't step foot out of the house. i caught up on finance and got a head start on the assignment due next monday (while playing some advance wars and revenant wings) and also preparing for stupid in-class marketing case for participation marks.
assignment for marketing is due friday, and operations assignment has now been moved to friday too. i'm hardcore working on ops right now which i HAVE to finish tonight so i don't plan on sleeping.
i also finished dexter season one. so good.
ira is coming this weekend, and we're going to get bubbletea and celebrate new years with lilian and friends so i'll finally get the chance to socialize. then next week is going to be more hell - BOD for marketing and two midterms, 14th and 15th. not like i had plans for valentine's day anyway.
then we're roadtripping it to montreal 16th-19th.
howard's birthday
reading week.
and then spice girls!
and it was freaking amazing.
i missed it because i was at school studying, so muneer sent me the video. i was watching it and i was really really into it and then it just SUDDENLY stopped like 30 minutes in... and i was dying to see the ending.
especially since EVERYONE was talking to me about it, and i'm like, "shut up! i didn't watch it yet." so today people were still asking me if i watched it yet and i didn't even get to finish it, and everyone's inflating my expectations of the last 5 minutes that supposedly would make my jaw drop.
okay so i just watched it. and i want to say that YOU PEOPLE RUINED IT FOR ME.
i expected too much and the ending didn't do it for me, even when it should have because it was freaking awesome.
arghh lilian i cannot believe you told me sylar got his power back!!!
nathan is dead... HIS MOM KILLED HIM
and the best of all... ahahahahaha takezo kensei is buried and he can never ever die!!! GENIOUS!!!

anyway, i am so freakin happy because i spent all morning worrying about how i'm going to transport my crap on such late notice. i was on the phone with my brother trying to find uhaul rates and alternatives (uhaul is such a friggn ripoff, GO DIE uHELL!) and in the end, turns out that my dad has some hookups with a van so we're all set to go for tomorrow.
now to concentrate on priorities.

OMFG OMFG we got snow patrol tickets... FLOOR!!! *screams in excitement*
maybe they should find a cure for bereavement so that writers won't have to keep thinking of new ways to bring denny back without actually, bringing him, back.
i am functioning on very little sleep and am making little sense and no effort to converse. is it too boring to say that i currently have no problem with the world as it is and those who inhabit it?
