I had an amazing day so far.
Work was fine. Nancy and I headed to Rideau for lunch. We had an office-clean up day, and everyone was just joking around and flinging elastic bands at each other.
I went to a training session for this new organization called Sisters Achieving Excellence. It is an organization that assists convicted or potentially-convincted young women in developing their literacy. The founder is in an amazing young woman with a lot of passion for what she does and someone I can really look up to for inspiration.
Going home, I had an incredible encounter with this 12-year old black kid from Texas and an elderly lady from the U.K. and we were all just getting to know each other at the front of the bus. Everyone was so friendly and open - it made Ottawa just a little less lonely.
Thanks again to McDonalds Ice Coffee that kept me up all night, I had an unrestful 2 hour sleep. Yesterday at 8am, we left to Michael Murakami's family home in Orangeville for the day. We planted trees in the morning and between the few of us, we planted 300 pretty quickly.

But I am sick and its made the past couple of days sucky.
- Went out for beer/wings with Howard, and the waitress girl asked me questions about Laurier for a while before even getting served. I kept having to pause and say, "Sorry, Howard"
- My baby friends abso-freakin-lutely LOVE "Auntie Me-lon." I don't know what it is, but Mercedes DIDN'T want to go home because she wanted to play with me. She got so sad because her parents wouldn't let her stay! If they didn't drag her, she would've had her first overnight stay away from home
- Working out and swimming days with Priscilla = FUN. Oh, the hot tub............. how we love it. Oh, and also church - being introduced to my new favourite pastor, Pastor Greg! I also can't wait to go to J&F this Sunday
- Getting drunk on two glasses of wine and throwing up in my friend's car = not a pretty sight = SORRY FRIEND. I am severely restricting myself from overdrinking (the first step is admitting you have a problem)!!!
- Party in Toronto @ Vitor's. Fun fun fun, and also sad because Seth is leaving to Chicago
- Bombarding V-bear at work and hugging her lesbianingly in front of all her managers. We had lunch and major FUN FUN shopping day after work!
- Leaving Richard's house about to leave to catch a movie when my car doesn't start up. Richard has to DRIVE to my house (with me, Vanessa and Dennis also in the car. P.S. DENNIS IS BACK!!!) and PICK UP my DAD and drive him back to his place where our car is... to fix it. Talk about one of the most awkward moments of my life
- Tania, aka. Ms. Rich treated me and Andrew to bubbletea at the new BR! The old BR totally trumps the new one. I came home and went to bed that night, got the chills and got a high degree fever and couldn't sleep a wink until like 6am. Been sick ever since
Happy be-St. Patty's Day, friends. I hope yours went well because I barely remember mine. Just kidding of course. But seriously, I got kicked out of The Spur because I drank a little more than I could tolerate at the moment, and I puked in the bathroom sink. I use the term "kicked out" very loosely, because the girl was very polite and I sincerely obliged, even though I didn't really know what was happening. I even asked Justin, "Why are we leaving?" and he lied to me and said it was because we finished all the food and beer and I believed him. I didn't know, so for that, I am sorry.
me and priscilla planned to go to the library today. while i was waiting for her, i saw a bunch of people, around my age, jam packed into this tiny sketchy-looking car parked right at my front lawn. it was at 12:20PM and they were there for a bit, since 11:30 i think and probably longer. anyway, i called priscilla and asked her if she was in that car waiting for me, but she said no. but she just came to my house and she saw those sketchy people too.
Okay, this is my third time telling this story. I warn you, please don't judge me for the things I am about to say. I am not a racist, I am a realist.
...or better yet, who picks people up in a supermarket?
remember how i made a complaint?
so you know how Pizza Pizza has that guarantee that "delivery is within 40 minutes or it is free" right?
i was driving home from waterloo last night at 130km. i was in the fast lane and there was a black car in the middle lane going as fast as me switching in and out of lanes. i wanted to pass him so i sped up to 140 and just as i passed him, he drove behind me and the police lights came on and that's my life for you
as you all know, i personally am not insured. so you can probably understand how much i was pissing in my pants
the guy comes out and tells me i was driving at 120 km, 20 over the speed limit in rainy weather. he asks me why and i say in a very ashamed-of-myself way: "Just trying to get home." he asks for my license and insurance so i scramble quickly for the insurance and fortunately i found it without knowing i even gave him the right thing. he took it to examine and then i called my dad and told him what happened and how freaked out i was and i asked him if i even gave the police the right thing.
the guy came back and told me that he would charge me $120 and give me 3 demerit points for going over 20, and i was so scared because i thought i wouldn't be able to get my G license. he said he was going to fine for me going over 10 instead and fine me $40 with no demerit points. he didn't even say anything about the insurance. HOLY RELIEF!
afterwards, i drove slower than a turtle and got home and burst out into tears and told my parents everything that happened. i told them how freaked out i was because i didn't have insurance. i am seriously shaken up and i have a 40 dollar fine to show for it.
last weekend we celebrated vitor's birthday downtown. i returned a whopping 8 items which i ordered online, which i blame on the evils of the forever 21 website. we ate carribean food and then went to vitor's place for drinks.
our last Go Bus was scheduled to leave at 12:20, so we left at 11:50pm. it took 10 minutes to walk from vitor's apartment to the eglinton subway. it took 17 minutes for the subway to get to union and we were SURE we weren't going to make it. at 12:17, me and charis ran like mad women from the subway all the way to our Go Bus stop. it was crazy! very dramatic. and we ended up making it right on time
for a while, me, ira and lilian have been planning a shopping trip to niagara falls/buffalo.
this is a tale of our events.
Saturday
10AM - ira and lilian rents car from sketch markham asian place
11:30AM - they arrive at my house. ira drived, lilian scared. some story about some "crazy person" RE: lilian's blog
1:30ish - lilian drived to the U.S. border. ira's status is "student" and has an Indonesian passport so they made us get out of the car and wait at customs for a while. it felt like we just got caught for smuggling cocaine or something. man, what a hassle. vanessa called me but i couldn't speak because no cell phones were permitted and there were like border officers walking around everywhere
=D
ira, so vain
waiting in traffic. note, there's about 10 pictures of us doing this

me ripping off ira's montreal pic

U.S. border!
2:30 to 9PM - ira drove around the U.S. we shopped at the Niagara Falls outlet place and drove to some mall in Buffalo. the sales were pretty good, but the only drastic difference in price that i noticed would be at the Coach outlet. seriously, GOOD coach deals but i didn't get anything because they didn't have the wallet i was looking for

a very complicated intersection
"artistic"
ira drove into a cemetary....
... lil was freaked out
niagara falls!!!
11:30PM - i was driving back at 110 km and we were near the outskirts of oakville, and at this time, the red engine light came on. then we heard this loud buzzing sound, and lilian noticed all this smoke coming from the car. i was going to get off at an exit but i couldn't accelerate anymore, the car was going at maximum 80 and i had to pull over right away.
ira took the driving seat because the rental car's under her name. ira and lilian lifted the front hood, and all this smoke came out. it was freakin' scary as hell! cars were driving by right beside us so fast and it was really windy and dark outside. while we waited for the car to cool down, we sat inside, looking up numbers to call from the GPS.
on the side of the highway!!!
12:45AM to 3AM - when the smoke died down, ira tried to start the car but it wouldn't work. after a short while, the police came and called a tow truck for us. all three of us squished into the tow truck and the guy told us the furthest he could drop us off without additional fees would be at a canadian tire in oakville. so we got there, ira had to pay the bill of about $126 and i called my brother to pick us up there. he dropped us off at my place, and i drove to markham to drop off lilian and ira.
WHAT A FREAKIN DAY!
rental company didn't pay us back yet. this tale is to be continued.
it's ICE week. basically, classes are done and all of the third year BBAS are randomly put in groups of 5 or 6 and have to take part in this "integrated case exercise." it's an in-depth case analysis where we are presented this 23 page case on a participating company (this year, NuComm is our focus) and have to develop a recommendation on how to solve the underlying issues using external research and integrating everything we learned in business up to this point.
ICE is definitely a big deal. they hosted this ICE kick-off party at the Turret yesterday and i was pretty deadset on not going. also, Dustin was having this pre-drinking party for our core. since clubbing is really not my thing, i decided to just have some drinks and then go home and put together the Operations report since it was due the next day.
around 9, me, becky, hassina, shannon, kevin, mario and renee left our place for Dustin's. me, shannon, renee and kevin were drinking this nastiest vodka ever mixed with coke and then i made renee play rock-paper-scissors with me and she kept losing and i kept pouring her straight vodka and forcing her to drink it. I GOT POOR LITTLE RENEE SO DRUNK! a lot of people from our class was there - it was fun! and then everyone headed to the turret, but for some reason, me, Spencer, Shannon and Gerald were the last to leave so we ended up walking together and having a nice conversation.
by that point, i was pretty much drunk. i really didn't want to go to the turret but they forced me to go, and thus is the explanation for my infamous line of the night: "I gotta go home and do Ops!"
i basically said that line all night, and i realize that when i'm drunk, i don't say a lot of stupid things, i just stupidly say one thing over and over (refer to Vanessa's drunken birthday party where I kept saying "I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!").
oh yeah, before we got to the turret, we ran into renee and mario. they didn't let her in because she was so drunk! LOL. gangbar led me upstairs and i kept the coolest face even though i was so unbelievably freaking gone at that point - and they let me in! also i remember repeating, "They're so stupid! They let me in!" a lot, in the bar.
i lost my money because Dustin offered to buy me a drink but i gave him my money and he kept giving it back but i wouldn't take it. and then he gave me my change and i dropped it all over the floor, and some people told me they saw me giving money out to people - i don't even remember this at all! i lost 40 bucks man!!! damn my drunken generosity!!!
it was a fun night. i remember running into absolutely everyone and having these hilarious conversations, and hugging all of these random people from my core - some of which i've never even talked to in class before. today, a lot of people i don't even remember seeing last night came up to me and asked me if i was alright because i was so drunk the night before, and that i was hilarious because i kept saying "I have to go home and do ops."
i was so dizzy so i wanted to go home, but i couldn't find my keys and i kept asking everyone where they were. i ended up finding becky and getting her keys off her - i ran off home (by myself), stumbled everywhere and toppled over our garbage can, went to my room and i totally forgot i didn't have my keys on me. STORY OF THE YEAR: i tried to knock down my door but i couldn't and then i got tired and i was so dizzy, i ended up passing out on the nasty floor in front of my door, and then i started puking and i fell asleep. i woke up a little after that because i was really cold and uncomfortable, remembered that i had becky's keys so i went into her room and passed out on her bed. keep in mind folks, i still had an ops report to put together!
this is what i found out today. gerald and becky came home, gerald scrubbed my puke and becky washed my nasty pukey sweater for me (i'm throwing it away). i felt really bad. i woke up around 7am and my head was spinning but i wasn't stumbling anymore and i went to my room and saw the door open. becky was sitting on my bed doing ops. at 8, she went to class and i got up and went to my bed and i had to literally force myself to wake up at 11 because there was an ICE information session we had to attend.
i wasn't tired but my head was just throbbing, and i had that constant feeling of wanting to puke. i felt like i had a fever, i was so ill. everything irritated me - noise, sunlight, smells. i can't even think about alcohol without feeling sick. i went to school and it was funny because everyone knew about my puking story or they saw how drunk i was at the turret. me, kevin, colin and hendry had lunch (which made me feel SO much better) and i kept telling them how i STILL had to go do OPS! hahahahaha
Wed. i rearranged my furniture substantially (how come no one noticed?) and now my chi is at harmony
Thurs"SHOULD have been a snow"day. after morning classes, shannon, kev and i had lunch when we were approached by the creepiest candidate for board of directors ever. kevin went to class, we went to shannon's place to get his laptop then mine after and then i left my friggin key in my room and i locked myself out again. he tried to pick the lock but couldn't because my lock is pretty strong, and then we both went outside to my window and tried to break in but my window was locked. shannon had to meet his group, so me and becky used our "tools" (butter knives, nail clippers, and screwdrivers and my physical force!) to try to break in my door. after a short while and a lot of hardwork and team effort, we actually broke in! i met up with about half our class who all happened to be at the science building working on the same project, and stayed there until 5PM working on the stupid OPS assignment question that i wasn't even supposed to be responsible for in the first place. i went home to shower then back to campus to work on marketing until 5AM
Fri. woke up at 11 and worked my ass off trying to finish off marketing (which was due @ 4PM). ira came at 4pm, then we all (becky, hassina, kev, lilian, ira and me) trekked to sushi... the damn bus was too full to let us on so we had to wait forever in the wet and cold for the next one. when we got to sushi, we met up with people and had to wait forever for the table because there was 10 of us, but sushi was freakin delicious! we all went back to my place, then shannon came and we all chilled til 5am. everyone went home 'cept ira and shannon and we watched silent hill. ira fell asleep (DUH) so i made shannon watch dexter and he loves it! lol he went home at 7:30 this morning and me and ira slept together on my tiny twin bed, and we woke up like an hour ago.
THE END
some nasty guy shows up at our door asking for winnie. sure. he comes in, goes to her nasty room and they chat or do whatever. that's fine. three hours later, we hear the shower go on and muddled voices of winnie and her friend. me and becky exchange looks... and then becky says, "Walter" and i'm like, "Oh! Right."
half an hour later, the front door rattles and Walter walks through. i'm like, "If you're here... then WHO's in the shower?!" then we exchange looks again...of realization, horror, and utter, utter disgust! we look down the steps and the shower is still on - and we hear Winnie and the guy chatting it up... in the washroom, with the shower on... what the fuck?! HUH!?
i don't care how she decides to orient her lifestyle... gay, straight, bi-sexual - WHATEVER!
but don't be showering it up with random girls or guys alike in our bathtub, giggling and doing who knows what in there! OR AT LEAST WAIT UNTIL NO ONE IS HOME to be nasty!! eewww what the hell... is going on!!!
**warning: this may get a little graphic
i have to be detailed so that you have the full grasp of the situation
so this story all begins with me taking a crap.
i flushed, it went down. what can i say? this was yesterday at 1PM. i left the house at 3:30 to go to school - someone was in the washroom. winnie.
accounting ended early so mike, jacey and i went to Morty's to meet up with lilian/farah/justin/monica/james/shannon/kevin for dinner. i got home at 8:30pm, i take a look at the toilet bowl: basically poo water comprised of brown flecks and white bits floating around, the sides masked in globs of poo. clogged- i was horrified.
becky came into my room and we were laughing our asses about it. i told her it might have been me because i took a crap that day. i asked her if she was the one who was in the washroom when i left, and whether or not she saw if it was clogged then but she said she was sleeping.
basically all night we'd come out of our rooms respectively to try to flush it and see if it'd go down by itself (we don't have a plunger). we tried again this morning to no avail. after class, me and becky were eating lunch and watching tv together upstairs and winnie was in the washroom yet again downstairs (her door was open and walter wasn't home). becky leaves for a delta gamma meeting, and i go downstairs to wash my hands. i look at the toilet seat and there's a brown fleck on it! i look closer and it's wet! i look at the floor & our bathroom mats were half wet! i prayed that winnie took a shower while we were upstairs and that was just water... but sadly, it was not just water, folks. i yelled out, "FUCKKK!!!"
becky came home. we were fuming about the situation together, and then ended up laughing about the nasty ass situation. i mean come on, if you're gonna friggin overflow the toilet, don't leave all the nasty water everywhere on the floor and on the toilet! our fucking roommate needs to clean that shit up! (no pun intended).
this is my home away from home, i don't want to walk into my washroom and step in a puddle of poo water, sit on the toilet with my ass wet from the seat. we knocked on her room door really loudly and for a long time - so she must have made her mess, and scrammed through the back door while we were still upstairs. she was trying to fix her mess too with our toilet brush used for CLEANING to try to unclog the toilet. it had poo flecks all over it, and the brush holder resembled a bowl of poo water. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH HER?! who leaves a washroom in that state! just because she ain't living with us next year, doesn't mean you treat OUR place like a farm where you just make a mess where you please.
i asked becky how we were going to clean the bathmats, and she's like, "Let's just throw it out in the snow." i'm like, "okay!" so we threw all four of them out in the snow on our front lawn along with our toilet lid cover. then we started swiffering the floor while trying to fix the toilet (keep in mind, we were laughing our asses off the entire time!!!) then i'm like, "That's it, I'm getting a plunger!"
me & becky trek all the way to lilian's house to get a plunger. by the time we got back, walter got home and he helped us out and joined us in our "fun." i plunged the toilet a couple of times, didn't work, tried again for a while... and it FINALLY flushed! becky swiffered the floor again, i found some cleaning products (along with a toilet bowl cleaner since psycho roommate smothered our original one in poo) and i scrubbed that toilet 'til no tomorrow. walter put the pooed toilet bowl cleaner in the garbage and helped us clean up.
we all went upstairs to get the bathmats from outside, and we wrote a note to winnie on the white board that basically said: "remember to take out the garbage tonight, did you overflow our toilet? we cleaned the washroom, can you scrub the bathmats? and clean up your crumbs upstairs (her crumbs were all over everywhere, and she left her nasty fudgicle stick on our dining table! that is so gross)" but we phrased it in a nicer way, and stuck the white board on her door to read if she decides to come home and face the mess she left for us to clean. with the exception of our snow-covered bathmats, our washroom is back to normal - nice and clean. the end.
thank you x100 to lilian and jackie for their plunger. if it wasn't for you, there still would be poo.
it all starts off with lilian, saying to me, "justin has something to tell you - and it's really bad."
i replied, "if it's going to hurt me, don't tell me. you know how I'm sensitive!"
she kept saying how bad it was, and then after a while she says, "justin wanted to let you know that peter and mary jane got a divorce" to which i replied, "THAT'S IT?!"
yeah, what the fuck?
the writers wanted the dissolution of peter parker and mary-jane watson's marriage so that they could have more breadth in creating story lines that are fresher, and that reaches a new generation of audiences -- it now involves a peter parker, a single man, in his 20's, and on the prowl.
to sum up in a nut shell: aunt may is dying, peter makes a deal with the "devil" (Mephisto) to alternate timelines so that peter and mary jane never marry and thus erase 20 years of spider man history - all to save auntie. again people, what the fuck.
i actually don't mind the end of peter parker and mary jane, but to end it so unrealistically and uncharacteristically is just plain insulting!
well, harry's back at least.
every term there's SIFE Bookswap (formerly Ace) and i'd say it's the best way to sell all your used crap because students will buy anything.
on the first day of classes, the professors always tell you whether or not you should buy the required textbook new or used. for all the books that you can buy used, we all wait for the day of the bookswap to make our purchase. this is because they keep changing damn editions, so if we have the opportunity to buy used, chances are, we most likely will.
in this case, that used book is for organizational behaviour II.
the problem is, all third year BBA students have early morning classes from 8:30 to 11:30am, while bookswap opens at 9AM. if you're really desperate, you skip the class. if not, right when class finishes, all the business students come rushing to SIFE to get that one OB textbook.
since mike isn't in BBA, me and kevin got him to get it for us. because of mike, i got a $120 textbook and $50 casebook retail for $35. i'm pretty ecstastic. when me and shannon went after class, the cheapest textbook was $115 and that didn't even come with the casebook but he had to buy it anyway. i just wrote this blog entry to brag. hahaha
i am a laggard. i am one of the 16% who "avoid change and rely on traditional products until they are no longer available"
**edit
omg, the funniest thing just happened. so i'm walking across St. Mikes parking lot from home to school... and it's dark and the lot is completely empty. a van pulls up behind me and just parks in the middle of everywhere, and someone gets out of the van and starts walking behind me. since St. Mikes is closed, i can't walk through the school so i have to walk at the side where it's really dark and creepy...like an alleyway. i get out my phone and punch in 911 just in case... and then there's this big steep snowy hill so i go up the hard way (because i'm not paying attention, i'm just trying to get away from creepy person) and i end up falling and i feel so embarassed and turn around to see if scary man saw i fell.
well, scary man turned out to be this scrawny clinton-looking guy who was friendly laughing at me. then i say "shut up! stop laughing" but really i'm thinking, thank god he's not a creeper. and he's like, "well why'd you go up the hard way!" and i'm like, "because i dunno! i was scared! i thought you were following me! you're creepy!" and then he's like, "how am i creepy!" and then i said, "i thought you were following me with a gun or something. who parks in the middle of the parking lot and starts following people?" and he's like, "i wasn't following! i'm going to school, i'm from laurier!" and i'm like,"well why don't you park closer to school like normal people and not far away in the middle of parking lots!" and he says, "like normal people! i have a gold pass i can only park at certain places" and starts laughing and then we continue to have this friendly banter and then we split up at the concourse and as we're walking away from each other, i ask him his name and he's like sun-something, and i'm pretty sure he's korean although he doesn't look it, and he asks my name... and he's like, "what year are you in? second?" and i show him three fingers and he's like, "you're old!"
anyway, that was a really funny/random moment!
i took a shower. then i made food and now my hair smells like gross. oil splashed on my face and my hands and it burns. i ran out of pasta so i have no food for myself and now i'm hungry. i'm crampy, my stomach hurts. i forgot to take my pills. i don't have a laptop so i have to study at school. it's 12am and i have 80% of course material to cover by tomorrow for the exam because i was studying for stupid finance today which just ended at 9:30pm. i'm sleepy. my eyes are burning. and i am writing these personal entries only for a fucking creep - who went out of his way to find my blog which has only been active for the past ONE year, while we stopped being in contact nearly FOUR years ago - to read for his sickening pleasure. really really sad and disappointing. does it really get better?
