I just watched Catching Fire and I must say that I'm becoming a big fan of the series. I don't think I'd read the books, but I do like the concept.
Here's how to make Hunger Games better:
1. Delete all love scenes
So this dude at work went up to me and said, "Wha you sayin?" After 10 minutes of confusion (on my part) and frustration (on his part), he finally told me that it meant "what's up" and it only made me wonder why he didn't just say that from the start.
I haven't updated about current events for almost two months now so you're probably wondering "what I'm sayin." I've been keeping BUSY that's for sure...
- Taking the Tax II class I dropped last term, I go up to Waterloo every Mondays and Wednesdays
- Part-time work at Mississauga Honda as a Service Cashier while I finish school and decide what I want to do with my life (to Korea or not to Korea, that is the question)
In between, I've been watching A TON TON TON of movies (went to see Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus at TIFF), applying for full-time jobs for January and just hanging out.

Thanksgiving Weekend was crazy but good... celebrated Shannon's birthday at PJ O'Brien's Irish Pub, went to Waterloo for Jacey's birthday and had Thanksgiving dinner with the family. I've been keeping busy lately studying (or lack thereof) for my exam Saturday, working, etc... and TA-DA ALL CAUGHT UP!!!!!!!!!!!! =)
School Starts:
Taking Tax I and Advanced Tax concurrently is hell enough. Add: Advanced Accounting and Auditing - just kill me.
Mother's Day:
Frankie's Tomatos in Markham for Italian Buffet. Blegh, I hate buffets.

Next afternoon was Mother's Day and my parents drove me back to Waterloo. We ate the best meal ever at King Tin.
Jackie's Birthday! Lilian and Ira baked Jackie a diabetic cake with a big "J" on it and made delicious cupcakes with everyone's last names. Again, people, upload your photos! The next day, we met up again on his actual birthday and went out to Morty's. We stayed up late Rock Banding at his house and all I can say to Hendry and James: you guys, omg.
Movies. Howard gave me a ride home Friday morning. Charis called to say goodbye in the afternoon, as she was already at the airport on route to Peru. HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY, see you in two weeks! At night, we stayed up with a Europe psych-up movie marathon night at Richard's house. The next night, we all went out to watch Angels & Demons and it was good!
Blue Jay's Game. I went downtown to pay for Party on a Boat deposit. It was A LOT, so you people better come (Justin, Ira, Mike Murakami, Michael Lee - RSVP! You know you're coming, why prolong the inevitable). I took a picture of a boat, but yeah, it's pretty dinky. I was quite disappointed. Go on the site and look at the photo gallery. This means I should stop hyping it up as one big crazy party.
After, I met up with Lilian and the gang to watch the Blue Jay's Game against White Sox. It was amazing!!! I had a great time, and it's not nearly as boring as that time I watched it when I was a kid. We didn't get our Alex Rios bobblehead (I WILL FOREVER BLAME IRA) but Lilian won free passes for Terminator: Salvation and a hat, and we all get free Pizza! After, we ate at Loose Moose Bar & Grill because Cyrus and Kurt wanted to watch Lakers. Fun day. Again, UPLOAD PHOTOS!

Rockclimbing:
Richard organized a rock climbing event and at night, we went to Oasis which is right on Bathurst. Chris, David and I on the 2nd beginner wall. The first time, the height was making me hyperventilate (with fear of Eugene dropping me).

It was a large group of us who showed up for dinner at Snug Harbour. I've wanted to eat there for a while because I thought it'd be nice and relaxing with the lake right there. I ended up paying $40 for my meal - why do I always get risotto?! The toffee cheese cake was absolutely amazing though! Unfortunately, it just had to rain (of all the days) so the after plans switched from lounging at the lake to bowling.
We took up three lanes, it was the best even though I bowled more poorly than normal (I blame being on lane 44). Bowling is 100x more fun with a large group. Afterwards, everyone went home but Vanessa, Dennis and Richard came over and we watched Quarantine and Planet Earth (who needs a narrator when you have Denbo, expert in marine biology?). I am looking forward to the sunny weekend. 3 days until school...
Is it half way done already? That thought saddens me, because coming home for me is like a breath of fresh air. It's not the same when you just come home for the weekend, because you know you're just going to have to go back to WaterS-hole Sunday night... so I always feel like I am home physically but my heart is not quite there. But my heart is here right now.
Ever since I came home, I've kept myself busy with family and friends and pleasure reading and yes, actually studying. People hung at my house almost every night so far, movies, Demetres, Symposium, Toronto, church, library (which is where I'm at right now...procrastinating) and this upcoming weekend, hopefully squeezing in both a Buffalo and snowboarding trip.
I am reading "The Five People You Meet in Heaven," a book that I've been meaning to read for a long time but I never had the chance to. I haven't pleasure-read for a long time and it's refreshing reading something when you don't have to. I hate business.
So far, I've seen almost everyone but after skating with Cathy and Bhu tomorrow, that makes everybody. First night back, my lover and I watched He's Just Not That Into You (great movie) and although it's quite queer to relate your life to a movie, it really put things in perspective for me. Especially this quote:
"If you can find him, then he can find you. If he wants to find you, he will."
The movie is about waiting around for someone who you think will come around but they won't because... He's Just Not That Into You! Unless... you're the exception. More times than not though, you are NOT the exception.
Although I didn't go on vacation like almost everybody else in my program, I can say that I'm definitely not disappointed. I really needed this week, and it's always nice to be in the company of family and friends.

My parents came home from Vietnam early and I came to see them for the three days prior to my last exam (you can say I had a three day extended holiday). On my last day, I hung out with Becky and did the majority of my Christmas shopping at the Laurier bookstore. I bought my niece and nephew these cute boy/girl Laurier sweaters, and got my parents mom/dad Laurier mugs. What? They already have their GPS, coffee maker, expensive items, etc. from me. What can I say, I have no $$$ this year.
I drove back home and then watched The Day The World Stood Still with Howard and friends. Since I've been back, I've done minimal shopping - I just checked out the new Dollarama and bought some Christmas tree decorations. I stayed at home with my parents, doing chores, shovelling snow, I put up the *explicit deleted* Christmas tree, and I spent the majority of my time working on this *explicit deleted* 300-clip, 3 hr long movie of my parents' trip to Vietnam on to a DVD. I guess you can say that is my true Christmas gift to them (they definitely will appreciate it).
Friday, as we all know was the catastrophic winter storm that screwed us all over. Saturday night...was stupid. Sunday night, me and my dad went to my oldest brother's house for Christmas dinner and we ate hot pot and I hate hot pot. I spent most of the time playing with the kids and playing Wii sports (eew, I can't believe I wanted one of these). My mom didn't go because she was sick, which she now passed down to both me and my dad so excuse me if I look a little crapalicious for tonight's annual Rick Hansen Christmas party.
Speaking of parties,
I've realized a very important, and almost dangerous issue.
How am I going to fit 33+ people in my house?
I spent the entire day, 12 straight hours of my life at the computer lab yesterday and I came "home" sore all over. That nomadic life didn't work out too well for me when I realized "home" was the only place I wanted to sleep. And shower. I don't want to go to the computer lab again (the same stupid people everyday), but I just might have to because I can't concentrate here.

I've been having a rough weekend. Let's just say on Friday, I went to bed at 10PM and would not wake up for another 12 hours just because I simply did not want to live my life.
Thursday night, we went out and met some new people. I ended up in an apartment admiring their Hello Kitty toaster saying, "Hey, I had a toaster exactly like that..." Then I stopped, paused and was like, "Do you live with a girl named Christine?" They all point to a door with the name 'Christine' on it with a big poster plastered on it of a tiger roaring.

Last night, me and Justina went to watch Zack and Miri Make a Porno, a new Kevin Smith movie which was hilarious although I don't know if it is quite worth the money. But it is graphic, that's for sure, if that's what you're looking for.
Then we went to Jackie's house and Rock Band-ed it until 4 AM (and reminisced about how much we miss you, Lilian!).
P.S. New Year's Eve Squared is officially cancelled. Sorry folks.
Thanksgiving weekend. I had a nice weekend at home. Right after my Thursday night class, Justin drove us home and then I had a nice night out. On Friday, me and Vanessa watched Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (it was cute) and spent the afternoon taking weird Mac photos at the library. At night after dinner, the whole gang went out to Sweet Avenue, this new dessert place in Mississauga which pretty much sucks. It was a great night of catching up with close friends.
On Saturday, me and my mom spent the day preparing a Thanksgiving dinner, after my mom spontaneously went out and decided to buy a turkey. Keep in mind that we are not a conventional family and have never celebrated Thanksgiving before. We've never eaten a turkey either. So I spontaneously decided to make turkey stuffing. I've never eaten stuffing before except for the little sidedish they give to you at Swiss Chalet during holiday times, muchless have ever made stuffing - but I was confident that I could pull it off. How difficult can cooking be? Nevertheless, the turkey, the stuffing, the pumpkin pie, the entire meal turned out wonderful. The next afternoon, we had a second Thanksgiving meal when my oldest brother and their family came over. My youngest brother and his wife roasted lamb, made butternut squash, spinach salad, and yams - how Western are we? By the time everything was wrapping up, it was time for me to go back to Waterloo with Cathy.
Jason Mraz @ Massey Hall. To get downtown for the concert, there was no choice for me but to rent out a car. I got Michael to drive me to Enterprise, but they said I needed insurance so I lied and said it was under my parent's name. They told me I needed a document for proof so I told them I would go home and try to fax it to them - and we left and never came back. He then drove me to Discount, which was SO difficult to find because it is hidden at the back of a hotel, but first you have to go through a restaurant to get there. Fortunately, these guys didn't even ask me for insurance so I was good to go. Me and Cathy drove to Mississauga first to pick up Ira, got McDonalds on the way and headed downtown.
Massey Hall compared to the ACC is a tiny place. It was amazing how close we were to the stage. The concert itself was fantastic. Jason Mraz is a God when he's out on stage performing - his voice, his talent, his energy - it just gets the entire crowd pumping. This concert definitely beats out Spice Girls and all the John Mayer concerts I've been to, in my books. He is just plain awesome.
Oktoberfest weekend. I had a Management Accounting assignment due Friday afternoon, which me and my group members stayed up all Thursday night working on. Of course, we started working on it Thursday at midnight so it only makes sense that we worked on it non-stop until 10AM the next morning. I woke up around 4PM on Friday, took a shower and got ready to go out for Oktoberfest with Becky and friends.
Oktoberfest - which none of us have been to, was fun and money draining. The entire night, was let's say... interesting. The Heidelberg house was playing pure country music and there were old people line dancing - talk about being out of place. We went to Symposium in the end for desserts and that was our night! I uploaded photos in the photo album.
i had a great weekend. had a killer time celebrating Cathy's birthday at Mortys with the best wings and beer in town! i got my broken laptop back from repairs, and it's almost as good as new. yesterday, i spent the day at a friend's watching movies and kicking ass at wii. at night, me and a group of people went to see the Russel Peters show in Kitchener (only show in Ontario people!) and it was freaking hilarious. afterwards, we went to mike's new place (jacey's mike) and played poker and DDR until late like stereotypical asians. and right now, me and Becky had our regular movie-day in watching Wicker Park. But most of all, the best thing... I have Mondays off! have fun at school tomorrow suckers

i honestly don't know how i did it, but i worked at it for days and configured a whole bunch of things, clicked a lot of buttons and installed who knows what... but my Wireless Network Connection is back and that means i've returned to the world of the internet.

went to vitor's to predrink and waited all night for henry's friends to come pick them up. his friends end up not even coming so seth backs out, and we squeeze the rest in the back of my car. after all that, henry very stupidly realizes he doesn't have his I.D. on him and we just waited all that time for nothing
chris got rejected at level for wearing white sneakers and we didn't want to pay $25 to bribe the bouncer so we went to the Light Lounge. very small, and very very empty. no wonder it was free
afterwards - ate on spadina, ended getting home at 5 and charis slept over. - finally watched Iron Man - best Marvel film EVER aside from the first Spiderman. no complaints whatsoever. i went in with very high expectations, and it still blew me away! freaking awesome movie people

- Tuesday - went biking and we played basketball at Priscilla's house and it was so fun! i haven't touched a basketball since grade 9 highschool gym class

- Today - driving up to Waterloo with Becky after work. i have a taxation class but she's just coming for fun. i also want to visit Cathy (who's been having problems with Winnie - now you know my pain!). not looking forward to the weekly drive but i might not have to anymore... long story. i'm still going up tonight though, see you on the other side
IRON MAN last night... didn't watch it because the line was ass long and no one wanted to wait (even though that would've made a fantastic blogging story, yeah i said it).
instead, we saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall and i completely loved it. i read a ton of reviews beforehand saying that the jokes were very cliche, but i thought they were very clever and i always loved jason segel (how i met your mother, freaks and geeks).
we were going to hit up Failte but again, the line was ass long and people did not bring their I.D. instead we hit up jack astors for appetizers and drinks bla bla bla BUBBLE TEA TONIGHT OKAY!?
