September is the season for change.

I used to be very adverse to change but something inside me now craves for it. I love picking up and moving somewhere different. Whether it is another house, another city, or another country - you can probably tell that I love change.

Even with furniture arrangement, I love moving things around and giving things a fresh look.

As I lament the end of summer... the end of long strolls in the city, beach volleyball, hiking through Gatineau park and delicious Stella Luna visits, I am looking forward even more to what the fall and winter will bring.

For one, moving into a brand new place is enough to excite me months in advance. The thought of endless snuggling with my honey watching scary movies, cooking endless recipes together in our kitchen, and having PANTRY SPACE to store everything. I can't wait.

Secondly, going to Costa Rica since both of us deserve a real vacation where we don't have to plan anything. It will be awesome just having a good mix of adventure hiking up the volcanoes, and relaxation on the beach. I have been aching to get off this continent (the last time was 4 years ago) and go somewhere fun and exciting and this is the time.

Third, having my first Christmas in Ottawa. I know it sounds a little sad to be away from my friends and family, but with the new house closing on the 22nd, I won't get to go home for Christmas this year. In a way, it makes me a feel a little relaxed. Every year that I've lived in Ottawa and I've come home for Christmas, my schedule has just been packed. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners, just catching up with friends. It's great but it can be exhausting, especially when you just want to take the time off to relax. 80% of my time with friends is eating, driving far to get somewhere, and getting stuck in traffic. Plus, it's been so expensive and time consuming having to travel back and forth home. I can finally set some roots into this new life I'm creating in this wonderful city.

I will definitely miss summer but the next few months are going to just awesome.
