So for my birthday, the girls got me a pair of tickets to The Sound of Music playing at the Princess of Wales Theatre downtown. I took my mom and must I say, BEST PLAY EVER. Maybe it's because I haven't seen one in a long time, but everything - the transitions with the props and the background - it's so high tech and just plain cool to watch.

The girl who plays Maria won the reality series on CBC "How to Solve a Problem like Maria" and won the role. She's never done theatre before but there's no way you could've told that because she was such a strong performer (and only 2 years older than me - what the heck am I doing with MY life??). Everyone was so amazing, my mom friggin loved it and I literally had tears in my eyes throughout the entire play.

Yesterday, me and Ira went to get Becky's birthday present and I finally bought my running shoes.

We bought her the home and away Toronto Maple Leafs jersey since she is a crazy Leafs fan. Cute eh?!

Yes, they're green but that's not why I bought them. After considerable research, I decided just to dish out for the higher-end pair but I lucked out in the end because there was a sale + SPC discount.

Becky joined us after and we picked up Gerald from the airport. Then me and Ira went on our adventure to four different Rogers trying to return the darned cable box. It was worth the trip because we met this guy with a sexy Scottish accent (I can't wait to go to Europe).

My bananas were beyond ripe so I had to make use of them: I made banana brownies and banana muffins from scratch.

We briefly went to 7-11 to get free slushies with our expired coupon. When we came back, James joined us for the baked goods and then we had a mini-jam session in Ira's room.

Pure poses.

The true musician!

Today is Becky's 22nd birthday.

This is the card I got her featuring her lover from her fave show, Prison Break. We went paintballing at this small place in Kitchener called Paintball Arena. By the end of it, we were all absolutely disgusting but it was fun, although I much prefer laser tag!

Other highlights:
  • Late late night girl talk with Ira and Lilian. The trio is best
  • Tennis with Michael, Jacey and Ira
  • McDees with Jackie and Ira. We got free ice coffee that kept us awake til 7AM
  • Becky made me special dinner: chicken with spaghetti squash... mmm, I love it

This album is actually amazing. Lady Gaga is a hard-working, creative, musical genius. Her voice is just incredible and she has a lot of soul. Just youtube her acoustic performances with her playing piano. She's grossly underrated.

Things that suck right now...

I had an interesting day.

Went to Mississauga last night on a whim. It was kind of crazy. I came back this morning, went to my group meeting, took a nap and shower and then got up to grab dinner with Lilian and gang. We ate at Ennio's and then went for K-Zone.

Now time to get to work.

my roommate who smells good

my last Laurier dining hall perogies, ever. what? i'm nostalgic

after a boys drunken night out, jam session at kevin's house. that is marcus passed out on kevin's floor

kevin was really into singing about killing whores. he's scary when he's really drunk

shannon is a master of freestyling. and also at doing chin ups in mid-air

last Sunday, I made Spinach Cannelloni's for my roommates, it took forever!

...but it was worth it! yumm

I rearranged my room and put my bed in line with the door like in 3rd year. Ira told me that feng shui dictates that you absolutely cannot put your bed in line with the door. It's known as the "coffin" or "dead man" position, symbolizing how the dead are carried through doors. It freaked me out and I started obsessing about feng shui so I rearranged my bedroom another three times. This is the result. It's not the best, but I am tired of moving my furniture!
