Edinburgh, Scotland
We were thinking of where to go for our second day in Scotland, and Jackie's friend told us about going to Edinburgh so we decided to go check it out (even though I wanted to see Lochness!!! Yes, I know it's far but still... NESSY!!!!!)
It was raining cats and dogs in Glasgow - it was hideous and cold. Only Ira was the smart one and brought an umbrella, and we had to check out and lug our crap through the rain to the train station.

So we got to Edinburgh and we went to drop off our luggage at the train station. When we were lining up, a bunch of people started taking a picture of this guy. We were like... who the heck is this guy, is he famous or something? Haha so I took a picture of him too. Jackie asked one of the photographers who he was and told him his name was John Smeaton and he was famous for catching a terrorist at Glasgow airport.
So we got to Edinburgh and it was still raining but it cleared up in no time (how extremely lucky for us!) This was basically our first view of Edinburgh - this row of long and beautiful buildings up on the hill. How absolutely breathtaking (WHO SAID GLASGOW IS BETTER?!)

Our mission was to go visit Edinburgh Castle and our mission was to climb these steps. They look more dangerous in person, but it wasn't so bad (I think by now we were accustomed to Scotland's steep hills).

Once we got to the top of the castle, it opened up to this crazy street where crazy fun super fantastic things were happening. It turns out that the Edinburgh International Festival was going on and we just got there right on time - how perfect for us. There was just a ton of fun things happening and it got us super excited! This is when I knew I liked Edinburgh.

These street performers are cool - brother and sister act, they were hilarious. This girl said she'd climb to the top rung but she lied.

I just had to pose with my favourite economist.

They had just beautiful buildings everywhere, it was such a wicked cool environment. Very lively and the weather just cleared up so fast and it was so nice and perfect.
At the end of the main street, we finally arrived at Edinburgh castle. It's basically a defense castle and it's not that big, but it's pretty cool.

Oh yeah hehe this is when I made Ira and Jackie sneak onto the bleachers and they sorta got in trouble.

This is the castle. We went with the guided tour but the Scottish dude had the thickest accent ever so I ended up paying attention to just half the things he said.

View from the top. Edinburgh is so BEAUTIFUL!!!

Ira got stuck in the cannon and as you can see, many people look gravely concerned.
Group shot of us from Edinburgh Castle (open your eyes Ira Halim)

Me on the street leading right to Edinburgh castle. So many people!

We walked around for a bit more and then found a nice place where they served really good food. Jackie got yummy mussels, Ira was brave and tried haggis again and I got this beef soaked in whisky sauce. We tried this special dessert which is made of berries, whipped cream and some alcohol, its either scotch or rum and its not bad.

UNICORN! We had some time left before our bus to London would depart, so we decided to find one more place to visit: The Queen's Gallery! We had to walk all the way down to the other side of the main street and found it.

This is the Palace of Holyroodhouse where the Queen stays when she's in town. It was closed by the time we got there but apparently, it is open to the public. This was our last stop before heading back to Glasgow to catch our 11PM bus to London. Or did we? That is a story that's to be continued...

What I learned about Edinburgh: IT'S BETTER THAN GLASGOWThis is the Palace of Holyroodhouse where the Queen stays when she's in town. Summary
Rating: 6/10 +1 because we were lucky enough to come when the Edinburgh Festival was going on. It is a beautiful town and I just love all the olden day architecture.
