...is watching it change while you stand idle wishing it wouldn't. Instead of spending time building your own relationships, you watch relationships form and evolve in front of you and you realize that you are no longer part of them. You are just the link that connects people together. Sometimes you hold on to people you've befriended in the past just to hold on to relationships that no longer exists because you have nobody else. And sometimes you just let those relationships die because it's just not worth the effort anymore. The world is a pretty lonely place when you find yourself watching everyone else's lives because the writer to the story of your own life has a mental block.

BUT
You make it sound like someone else is writing your story... You're the writer to your own story, so write it whichever way you want. Don't wait for miracles, they start with you.
